About Us

Beginnings Care for Life Center is a non-profit agency, located in Coldwater, Michigan.  We're run by a small, part-time staff and many volunteers.  Beginnings receives no government funding, but is funded by donations from individuals and some organizations.  Fundraising events, such as a walk/run, concert and banquet, are held throughout the year.  Materials, such as diapers, clothing and baby-care items, are received from the community and distributed to clients.  Gifts made to Beginnings Care for Life Center are tax-deductible.

Since 1996, Beginnings Care for Life Center has offered free, confidential services to the Branch County community.  Services are available to all people, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, marital or financial status.  Over 1200 individual client-visits occur each year, with more than 300 individuals being served.

Our Earning & Learning Program allows participants to earn points while receiving Parenting and Life-Skills Education.  Points may be exchanged for new baby clothing, diapers, larger baby-care items (such as car seats and strollers) and gift cards.  This is a very popular service.

We also offer  free baby-care and maternity items, referrals for needed services,  Fatherhood Involvement and Abortion Recovery Programs and Sexual Risk Avoidance Presentation in Schools.

Our newest program, Foundations-Building Solid Relationships, is a free, six-week, DVD-based teaching series for couples.  Topics include:  Communication, Empathy, Conflict Resolution and Self-Talk.  It is an opportunity for couples to learn more about each other and ways that they can form the basis of a solid relationship.
